Eating well while on vacation is tough, so many new foods to be experienced, so what is a person to do? Finding a happy medium with an occasional indulgence will take so learning. Begin with breakfast, which should not be skipped, but if your hotel offers bagels, pastries and donuts, pass them by and go for fruits or fiver rich cereals instead. Many vacation spots have farmers markets where you can pick your own breakfast is you are not at a hotel. Restaurants are the typical eating place while on vacation and even a McDonald’s is OK, just watch the portion sizes while making the right choice. Stay away from anything fried no matter where you go and avoid that special sauce and opt for something grilled, steamed or broiled. Sharing a meal is one way to cut the portion size down or take the other half and eat it later. Remember, just because the food is in front of you, does not mean you must clean you plate. Vacations involve lots of walking so keep yourself hydrated at all time and will all those calories being burned by walking, you can go for that indulgence and not feel guilty. Every location have their own special foods and you should not pass them up because you are counting calories.
