Food for your brain

You’re at a loss because you feel yourself slipping at work. It’s completely out of character because your co-workers used to call you the Master Multitasker. You don’t know what’s going on but it’s just like you aren’t thinking straight and have trouble remembering the most basic things. It’s been growing worse and it’s starting to worry you, but you’ve had all the tests done and nothing shows wrong.

In addition to working with a proper physician you would also do well to make minor changes in your diet and exercise regimen to see if it helps your mental processing. What exercise, you say? Well that needs to be changed. In addition to keeoing you focussed, daily physical activity helps to keep your weight down, gets your heart rate up and helps keep your spirits up. And admit it, who doesn’t feel better once they’re finally done? With exercise, Endorphins are triggered – making you feel lighter, healthier and far more clear-headed. Also check into the possibility of a food allergy or intolerance, because many food issues can directly affect your memory retention.

Finding balance within the body and mind is challenging. And though experts agree that proper nutrition, adequate sleep, and regular exercise help keep your body running successfully – if you’re covering that and still needing assistance, check with your doctor to see if supplements or herbs will help. Ginkgo biloba has been reported to be of benefit to brain function and aide in cognitive reasoning – and some people have even mentioned gaining more energy whilst taking it. Certain herbs and supplements may or may not be for you, but if you find it’s what you need then your brain will most assuredly thank you for it.
